The End of an Era.

After 17 years I have moved the Crouch End Clinic from the Virgin Active Health Club to Project Me, training and treatment studio, a 5 minute walk away at 84 Park Road, N8 8JQ, near The Maynard Pub and junction with Wolseley Road.

On the 21st December 2013 Virgin Active closed the Health and Beauty Clinic,Heaven V, at Virgin Active, Crouch End due to the "re-purposing" of the area to create more exercise space.

My patients and club members I spoke with agreed that having an in-house Osteopath specializing in training injuries was of great benefit to the club. Even those who did not use the clinic had been aware of the presence of a caring, bespoke service. People receiving an accurate diagnosis and prompt treatment recover from their injuries faster and return to their training schedules, helping them to achieve their goals.

The Club has benefited from having fewer members wanting to freeze memberships as a result of injury; less sick leave among staff members and better informed gym staff.

I was fortunate to have worked at the club since it opened in 1997 as Future Fitness, which later became Holmes Place and then Virgin Active, with only one other member of the team (Rose of the creche; though minus some maternity leave) lasting the whole 17 years. There have been numerous Club General managers; gym managers and more staff than I could possibly remember, but there has consistently been a been a team ethos to deliver a quality service to the Club members and especially the users of the clinic.

Over the years I have worked with many therapists who formed a series of fantastic teams. There has been a lot of fun with the clinic teams and I hope we will continue to meet.

I would like to thank the thousands of individuals who have trusted me to treat them over the years in Crouch End and would assure you that I am still available for consultations and treatments.

Looking forward to new beginnings in 2014.
